I started out as a musician, a classically trained guitarist, studying with Carlos Barbosa-Lima and master classes with Christopher Parkening. Over time, I realized I wasn’t interested in teaching. I ended up working at Entertainment Industry studios.
I continued to play, wrote and produced music for film shorts and other mediums. I had a friend ask me one time if he could build me a guitar. A light went off and I said no. “Show me how to build one.” So, I went on to build my first electric guitar. That was over 10 years ago. I self-taught myself how to build acoustic guitars doing a ton of research on the subject. My goal is to make a custom guitar at a reasonable price. Make them a bit different from “store bought” standard issue.
Now, with over more than 10 years of experience in custom guitar craftsmanship, I perform a meticulous construction process, ensuring each instrument meets the highest standards and reflects the client’s vision.
My customers have been extremely happy with their “custom” guitars. I think that is because I include them as part of the build journey. I do this by having discussions during the build process and showing pictures of the build process from start (design on paper) to completion (upon approval from the customer).
