As I mentioned on the last “Frustration” blog, I have a new client for an OM Acoustic guitar build. We started about 23 days ago. He wanted a wood called Monkeypod for the back and sides. Monkeypod is hard to find with the coloring I wanted for the guitar. I ordered it 23 days ago, the vendor said it was delivered, but I never got it. I went to another vendor. They took my money, never responded to the purchase in any way. Had to go to the bank on that one.
I talked with the client and I found another type of wood that he loved, ordered it 2 days ago and got it yesterday.
The wood is Myrtlewood. This one had a beautiful figure for the back. Almost like a surfboard. Today I began thinning out all of the wood to the proper thicknesses (top, sides, back).
Finally making progress. This guitar is going to be a stunner!
